Forced Child Begging as a form of Forced Labor or Slavery

The phenomenon of children forced to beg or work as peddlers (which exists in many countries) has been examined in Israel. The Office of the National Anti-Trafficking Coordinator has been involved in inter-governmental discussions about this phenomenon. The Office has expressed the opinion that under certain circumstances, it may be possible to view "employing" children as beggars as a form of human trafficking, particularly as forced labor or slavery.
