International Relations

The Department of International Affairs constitutes part of the State Attorney's headquarters, and it coordinates and leads the Office of the State Attorney's international activity. The Department develops and strengthens working relationships with enforcement agencies in countries all over the world, as well as with international organizations such as the International Association of Prosecutors.

The Department's attorneys are partners in international working groups regarding matters with which the Department is entrusted, such as the working groups of the European Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters and the working group for the matter of the Hague Convention on Child Abduction.  Likewise the Department of International Affairs holds meetings with parallel agencies in different countries and forms new working relationships with countries that have common interests in the struggle against global crime.

Furthermore, the Department of International Affairs provides day-to-day advice to units of the State Attorney, the Israel Police and the other enforcement authorities in all matters pertaining to international criminal law and the promotion of the struggle against crime by means of the tools and working relationships available to the Department, and acts as a database in this field in Israel.
