THE FUNCTION OF THE CENTRAL AUTHORITY
- In the event that a child is abducted from a foreign country to Israel by one of the parents, the other parent must make an urgent request to the central authority of such a country, or alternatively, to the central authority in Israel, so that it may attempt to locate the abducted child. The central authority in Israel may, at the request of the other parent, apply to the abducting parent and notify him/her of the other parent's intention to act against him/her in Israel, by way of proceedings in accordance with the Hague Convention, if the child is not returned.
ACTS THAT THE REMAINING PARENT MAY PERFORM BY HIM/HERSELF
- The remaining parent has the option of applying directly to a lawyer in Israel whose area of expertise is Hague Convention cases so that he/she can manage the legal proceedings in Israel.
