The National Center works towards:
Heightening awareness of the concept of mediation and alternative dispute resolution, and the advantages of their use within the community framework, the business sector, the academia and the general public.
Developing professional knowledge and appropriate tools for resolving different types of disputes, amongst them civil and business disputes, workplace disputes, public disputes, disputes within the family and the community, and disputes in the criminal field (Restorative Justice).
Promoting initiatives and affording professional assistance to frameworks developing mediation and ADR services both in the public and private sectors.
Initiating pilot programs to imbue the use of mediation and ADR in government offices, district attorney departments, and amongst litigants and lawyers.
Developing professional standards and rules of ethics for those involved in the field of mediation and ADR.
Developing mediation training programs in various fields, including developing and managing the practical experience program in mediation (practicum), in cooperation with the Court’s Administration and mediation trainers.
Furthering the cooperation with the academia, with the purpose of developing study and research in the field of mediation and ADR.
Evaluating the effectiveness of the use of mediation and ADR.
