The Legal Aid Department has been providing legal aid in the sphere of civil law for more than 35 years, under the provisions of the Legal Aid Law, 1972 and in accordance with the Legal Aid Regulations, 1973. In 2009 more than 60,000 people applied to our offices which provided legal representation in more than 180,000 legal proceedings.
