The Israeli Law, Information and Technology Authority (ILITA) will host on Wednesday 27th January 2010 a conference on "International Data Transfers and outsourcing". The conference is within the framework of the Twinning project between ILITA and the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
The main speaker in the conference is Mr. Christopher Kuner, Partner and Head, International Privacy and Information Management Practice in Hunton & Williams LLP (Mr. Kuner's Bio). Mr. Kuner is the leading International Privacy attorney in Europe. In the past two years Mr. Kuner was named the "go-to person for EU privacy" in the Computerworld survey of "The best Privacy advisers". Mr. Kuner is the author of the fundamental book on data protection in the business sector, the chairman of the European Privacy Officers Forum (EPOF) and the chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Task Force on Privacy and the Protection of Personal Data. In addition, Mr. Kuner represented the chamber of commerce in the negotiations with the European Commission on the standard contract provisions related to international data transfers, and SWIFT in the crisis of transfer of data to American law enforcement agencies, as well numerous multi-national companies in forming data transfer strategies between Europe, the US and other countries.
In addition, during the conference representatives from the AEPD and the French Data Protection Authority will present these authorities' approaches to international data transfers.

The conference will be held on Wednesday January 27th 2010, between 9:30-13:30, in room 101 in the Government Campus, 125 Begin Rd., Tel Aviv (it is recommended to arrive about half an hour earlier due to the security check).
