The department provides legal accompaniment to the various units of the ministry.
Among its functions is to ensure that the actions of the minister, the management staff and various units of the ministry will be in accordance to the law, and as is appropriate according to proper administrative standards.
The department deals with the legal aspects of a wide range of operations, procedures and processes in the ministry, both on an internal level and with external entities.
The department accompanies all the ministry's operations including: tenders, contracts and communications, personnel, labor laws and discipline, employment of contracted labor, contact with suppliers, administration, computer and data systems division, security department, the ministry's comptroller, dealing with legal procedures that the ministry is involved with/in, dealing with conflicts and disagreements, providing opinions, participation in managerial forums and various committees requiring the participation of the ministry's legal advisor etc. – similar to the functions of any government ministry's legal advisor.
