The Freedom of Information Law-1998 legalises the right of every citizen or resident to receive information from public authorities. The law and its ordinances designate regulations concerning information that public authorities are obligated to publicize of their own volition and information that they are obligated to publicize upon request. The person responsible for overseeing the law's implementation is the Minister of Justice.
