Department for the Licensing of Private Investigators and Security Services

 
​The Department for the licensing of Private Investigators and Security Services was established within the Ministry of Justice upon the enactment of the Private Investigators and Security Services Law, 5732-1972. 
The Department processes applications for the grant and renewal of licenses for Private Investigators, Private Investigators Offices, a Body Corporate of Private Investigators, Guarding, Security Organizer, an Office for the Provision of Security Services and a Body Corporate for the Provision of Security Services.

​In addition the Department handles applications for training in private investigations and supervision of trainees and instructors through a Department Inspector, in examinations for the licensing of Private Investigators, complaints submitted against Private Investigators, in the submission of claims against Private Investigators to the Statutory Disciplinary Committee, and monitoring decisions of the Disciplinary Committee as part of the activity of the Department in coordinating the work of the Committee for the Licensing of Private Investigators and Security Services, established under the said Law, and comprising 7 members. The Committee is headed by a Retired District Court Judge and 3 public representatives are members of it, a representative of the Prime Minister, a representative of the Minister of Defense and a representative of the Police.  Also taking part in its deliberations is a representative on behalf of the Attorney General.
